We have found Dbvisit Standby to be particularly easy to implement, monitor and test, and the Dbvisit support team are always very quick to respond when we need them. Overall, we’ve found Dbvisit Standby to be an extremely cost-effective solution, based as it is on Oracle Standard Edition.
Dbvisit delivers what we expected. It provides a simple user interface and highly automated processes for setting up and managing replicated Oracle Standard Edition databases.
The products were quick and easy to set up and get running using Dbvisit’s online training material and documentation. If we needed additional help, Dbvisit’s support line always provided us with excellent responses, often within three or four minutes!
Such is the reliability and simplicity of Dbvisit Standby that the team was able to construct an operational test installation within a few hours of downloading the product. They were then able to successfully deliver the full production solution using only Dbvisit’s online training tools and documentation, without the need for any specialist training from Dbvisit.
Dbvisit Standby is a great tool to use. Configuration was simple and straightforward, and it makes even complex restore processing seamless. Standby’s automation of operational tasks reduces our commercial and technical risk and saves my team precious time and resources.
Log Shipping is great when it works but, when it breaks it’s such a headache and you usually have to just start over. StandbyMP manages DR so much better – now it’s not just a case of looking back at notes from last year and trying to understand what was done. While being based on Log Shipping, Standby is overall a far superior solution for SQL Server DR.
We are now in the process of transitioning some of our Database to SQL Server and PostgreSQL. The multiplatform architecture of StandbyMP means that we will have the option of delivering the same level of protection to these platforms as Dbvisit's developers make new databases available.
Dbvisit Standby was straightforward to install and easy for the implementation team to work with.
Dbvisit Standby provides the full disaster recovery capabilities, and the Central Console feature we need to successfully protect and monitor our new POS system. The fact that the Dbvisit implementation addressed our two vital requirements, means we are very pleased with the result.
7-Eleven has found Dbvisit Standby easy to use and operate, both in replication mode and in the event of a disaster. A key factor in selecting Dbvisit was the level of support they offered, both before and after the sale.
I have worked with StandbyMP for over seven years now, and it has become an important part of our offering. Graceful Switchover allows us to conduct regular DR Testing. The monitoring and reporting integrate well into how we work, and Dbvisit is very fast and responsive when we do require support.
