Introducing StandbyMP v12.1: Scalable DR for MSPs & ISVs

Written by Tim Marshall | Apr 17, 2025 5:09:09 AM

What’s New in 12.1?

MultiPlatform CLI (dbvcli)

We’ve reimagined our CLI (Command Line Interface) from the ground up.

  • Unified syntax across platforms: Whether you’re working with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL, use one consistent command line to power it all.

  • Interactive and no-prompt modes: Run complex actions with ease in both scripted and user-driven workflows.

  • New CLI functionality: Temporarily enable or disable log shipping during maintenance windows, insert your own scripting logic, and more!

This new CLI dramatically improves efficiency and offers useful extra options for teams managing multiple platforms. Read the release notes for more information.

Fully Featured MultiPlatform API

Yes, it’s here! A fully featured and unified API, offering functionality across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

  • Use it to integrate StandbyMP into your existing software stack, dashboards or processes.

  • Preview users have already built visualizations, custom alerts, and automated workflows.

This is real database continuity automation, across all your platforms.

New License Key Format

We are introducing a new license key format that brings greater security and features.

  • Greater security using Ed25519 Edwards-curve Digital Signature Algorithm (EdDSA)

  • Contains more information:

    • “Issued To” organisation is visible

    • “License Type” is displayed on the control center (Production/Partner/Trial)

  • Sets the stage for user license self-management in the future.

Updated GUI + UX Enhancements

The 12.1 interface includes subtle but powerful improvements:

  • Color-coded platforms make it easy to distinguish database types.
  • Performance optimizations deliver a faster experience, especially with larger numbers of configurations.
  • Everything feels smoother, sharper, and simpler.

Quality of Life Improvements

Time doesn’t stand still. StandbyMP 12.1 includes many quality of life improvements, such as:

  • New log and file retention management policies to keep disk usage under control.
  • SQL Server performance boosts that streamline working with large numbers of databases in parallel.
  • Many more refinements under the hood to improve stability, performance, and monitoring.
